The Group has long standing links to New Road Fishermen’s Chapel in Old Leigh, and holds several church parade services during the year, parading through the Old Town with colour flying to the Chapel on New Road.

We meet at The Den at 10:30 in full uniform, parade through the Old Town to the chapel, returning to The Den on completion. We are normally finished by 12:15. Family and friends are welcome to join us in the chapel for the service. All sections are welcome to attend, and it counts towards several challenge & activity badges.

In December we invite the congregation from New Road to The Den for the service, combining with our summer open day and Christmas toy & carol service. The programme of services is below.

We also support a number of other services across the community during the year, including Remembrance Sunday at Southend Cenotaph, Scouting’s Renewal of Promise in April, Southend’s Armed Forces Day Parade in June, and Merchant Navy Day in September.
