SUMMARY:First Aid Refresher 2
DESCRIPTION:6 hour RYA First Aid refresher course\, for those that have previously completed a RYA First Aid Course at The Den and require a refresher on practices and techniques. This course is run over two evenings on Tue 14 & 21 Feb\, you must qttend both sessions to complete the course. Book your place here. \n\n\n\nThis is a ‘marine focused’ first aid course\, but we will adapt to try and make it more suitable for our young peoples age ranges and the many opportunities which we provide to these young people. \n\n\n\nPriority will be given to those who require training for permit and leadership roles\, and further dates will be added in due course if required. If you have not previously completed any RYA first aid training please book the full course on Sat 28 Jan which will cover topics in more depth. \n\n\n\nIf you are unable to book onto this course due to it being full\, then please e-mail CMcHugh@3rdCB.org.uk so additional courses can be arranged if required.

DESCRIPTION:We’re holding a fundraising dinner at The Tandoori Parlour in Benfleet\, raising funds to support the Scouts going to the World Scout Jamboree In Korea\, and International Expedition to North America this summer. \n\n\n\nThe price is £15 for adults and children 12 & over\, or £12 for children under 12\, open to all families and friends of 3rdCB. This includes a set mixed starter\, followed by an unlimited buffet. So don’t delay\, and book in for a fun and sociable night using the button below. \n\n\n\nWe’ll be running a few games and fundraising activities during the evening as well\, including a raffle\, 100 square and heads & tails game\, so please bring some cash with you.

DESCRIPTION:Monthly Young Leader training sessions open to all Explorer Scout Young Leaders within 3rdCB and across Southend West District on the second Tuesday of each month (unless advertised otherwide). \n\n\n\nThe Explorer Scout Young Leaders’ Scheme is the training programme for Young Leaders. It contains 11 modules and four missions for them to work through whilst volunteering in their chosen section. Modules give Young Leaders the skills and knowledge to be successful in their role\, while missions allow them to put everything into practice with support. \n\n\n\nAs well as developing valuable life skills\, the scheme is an opportunity for Explorers to make a positive impact in their communities and to fulfil the service elements of many of the top awards in Scouts\, or their Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. Recognition of achievement is available along the way\, and on completion of the Scheme\, the Young Leader is awarded with an Explorer Scout Young Leader belt buckle.

Then join the team at Southend Gang Show for a day of singing\, dancing\, performing and drama\, and show it all off in a performance in the evening. \n\n\n\n\nStanding for SHow IN a Day In Guiding and Scouting\, SHINDIGS is a fast paced\, action packed day where Scouts and Guides from the Southend\, Castle Point and Crouch Valley area come together to put on a Gang Show in a day. \n\n\n\nIf you are a Scout\, Explorer or leader and love performing then SHINDIGS is for you. It’s a great way for Scouts and Guides to give Gang Show a try\, learn some new skills and make new friendships before making the commitment and signing up for our ‘It’s a Date’ show. \n\n\n\nHeld at Shoebury High School\, meeting at 10am\, you’ll rehearse throughout the day\, then put on a show in the evening at 7pm. \n\n\n\nTo apply or find out more\, visit www.southendgangshow.org. DESCRIPTION:Parade Service to New Road Fishermen’s Chapel in Old Leigh. \n\n\n\nMeet at The Den at 10:30 in full uniform. \n\n\n\nWe parade through the Old Town with colours flying to the chapel\, returning to The Den on completion. We are normally finished by 12:15. Family and friends are welcome to join us in the chapel for the service.
