SUMMARY:Old Leigh Regatta
DESCRIPTION:A weekend of family fun across Old Leigh hosted by 3rd Chalkwell Bay\, and we need your help to make it a fantastic weekend. \n\n\n\nOld Leigh Regatta is Old Leigh at its most cheerful – a brilliant weekend of boats\, races\, games\, live music\, stalls\, games and plenty of fun on the water. A proper community knees-up on the Thames Estuary\, bringing locals\, visitors and the Sea Scout groups together for a day of seaside entertainment. \n\n\n\nWe need your help!\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIt’s one of our biggest fundraising events of the year\, and we need help from the 3rdCB family – especially Sea Scouts\, Explorers\, family members and supporters over the weekend to run stalls & games\, help set up\, and take part in the competitions on and off the water. If you can help out please sign up for a few slots through the link below: \n\n\n\nhttps://signup.com/go/yuRFLPZ \n\n\n\nWe need help on both days from about 9am till 5pm (Regatta opens 11am\, stalls finish about 5pm\, but the music carries on into Saturday evening until around 9pm). Roles we need help with include: \n\n\n\n\nSetting up and taking down of stalls at the start and end of the day.\n\n\n\nHelp running the 3rdCB game stalls (including Bat the Rat\, Hook a Duck\, Darts in Envelopes and more) in the Foundry Car Park\n\n\n\nPeople to walk the Old Town with donation buckets (a great chance to see the whole event and chat to people. must be over 16)\, collecting donations for Scouting and to keep Old Leigh Regatta free.\n\n\n\nDonations of cakes for the tea tent (must be nut free and all ingredients listed). Please drop these to the Den Friday 11 September evening from 5.30.\n\n\n\nHelp serving in the Tea Tent (proceeds to 3rdCB and Alfie’s A-Team).\n\n\n\nPeople to crew the merchandise stall.\n\n\n\nHelp at the start and end of day with with the road closure and stallholder access\, such as showing vendors to their stalls\, assisting traders who need extra help with moving equipment\, and keeping an eye on stock while traders move their cars to parking areas (from 0600).\n\n\n\n\nCubs and Beavers are really welcome to come and help out as well with their parents\, and take part in the many activities on offer. \n\n\n\nYouth members that are helping\, please wear your 3rdCB polo and group scarf. \n\n\n\nWe can’t wait to see you all at Old Leigh Regatta for a fun-filled weekend! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPunch and Judy in The Den

SUMMARY:Sunday Duty Patrol
DESCRIPTION:We all have a responsibility to keep The Den clean & tidy\, and to ensure that the boats are bailed regularly\, particularly during the winter months. On the third Sunday of each month the Scouts and Explorers take it in turns (by Patrol / Division) to be the Sunday Duty Patrol and keep our HQ and equipment running properly. Please make a note of the day your patrol is on duty – it is only once a year and makes a big difference in keeping our HQ running well. \n\n\n\nSunday Duty Patrol starts at 10:30 and lasts for about 1½ hours.  Where there is a Church Parade on the same day\, duty patrol will start on completion. \n\n\n\nWear old clothes that you can clean in. Please let your PL/DL and section leader know if you can’t attend. \n\n\n\n2026 Rota\n\n\n\nMonthDatePatrolsDuty OfficerJanuary25*Penguins and Dolphins (*week later than usual)RenownFebruary15Seagulls and SharksSolebayMarch15Explorer UnitEndeavourApril19Gannets and OttersRenownMay17Curlews and StingraysSolebayJune21DauntlessDauntlessJuly19Seals and TurtlesRenownAugust–No Duty Patrol–September20Merlins and PiranhasSolebayOctober18Explorer UnitExplorersNovember15Puffins and BeaversRenownDecember13*Stormy Petts and Whales (*week earlier than usual)Solebay
