3rd Chalkwell Bay have been invited to send a contingent to represent the Group at the Armed Forces Parade in Southend on Saturday 29th June.

The parade will consist of armed forces, cadet services and veterans, along with Patrol Leaders from both Sea Scout Troops and the Explorers march with them representing 3rd CB and local Scouting.

If you are free that day and would like to attend, please do so as we would like to have a good number parade on the day. It will be full uniform.

We will also be parading the Royal British Legion Leigh Branch’s standard, plus our own Group standard as we march down Southend High Street. We will then attend a short thanksgiving service and then parade back down the High Street.

Meeting Point

The assembly point for the parade will be under the railway bridge that goes over Southend High Street at 10.00.

Dismissal from the parade is approximately midday at the assembly point by the bridge.

Group members will need to be in smart No.1 uniform (uniform trousers, square rig, scarf, cap and black uniform shoes) and girls will need to wear their hair up in a bun with a bun net. As the weather is due to be hot, uniform jumpers will not be needed.

If you are available for this parade please can you respond by return email to Karen Cruiks on as soon as possible.
