Launching the Parent Portal and Badges at Home

During the period of social distancing, we’re encouraging our youth members to carry on learning new Skills for Life at home through Scouting’s numerous activity and challenge badges.

To help with this, we’re rolling out the Parent Portal, a part of Online Scout Manager, the system we use to manage your child’s details and achievements in Scouting. Members can see what badges they can do, and upload videos and photos of them completing badge requirements at home. You can tick off the bits they completed and congratulate them in the system. Over 100,000 requirements have been completed at home since launching 3 weeks ago across the country!

Every parent should by now have received a unique link to join the Parent Portal; if you haven’t received a link please drop an email to with your child’s name and date of birth and we’ll resend it.  This is also an opportunity to spring clean the details we hold for your child and make sure all the contact/medical details are correct. Please don’t forward the links on to other families as the link is unique for your child(ren). If you have more than one child in 3rdCB you’ll get one email for each of them (sorry); you only need to create one account, then click the link for each child and they’ll all appear together.

Leaders with children who already have an OSM account should use their normal log in details.
