Always important as the nursery for boys wishing to join the Sea Scout Troop, The Cub Pack has continued to be a strong section, and one of the best in the area with a long waiting list. Because of their tender age and Scout Association rules, training afloat is not often included. They however do their own thing, ably led by Tricia, Val and their leaders and helpers from all sections of the group.
The Pack has its own camps, but every 3 years they take part in the Group Summer Camp, a highlight of the year when all sections get together. A Pack highlight of the year is the annual lads and dads camp (guess who wilts first!). Also Cubs attend monthly church parades at New Road Church in the Old Town. Their claim to fame: the Cubs are without doubt the noisiest organization in the Old Town, unlike their demure leaders! A timid Trish... perhaps not methinks.
The Pack meets at the Den every Wednesday (even through the holidays) from 18:30 til 20:00. For more information about the cub pack, contact Eric at the Den on 01702 476890 between these times. |
