Thank you so much to everybody who helped at the Jumble Sale on Saturday 7th March; we made a grand total of £364.09 profit! It was great to have some of our regular supporters as well as some new faces. Thanks also to everyone who donated jumble and cakes. Also a huge thank you goes to Holly Whiteley for organising the sale!
Over the past year we’ve gathered a fair bit of lost properly at The Den, including lots of coats left in the lobby for a considerable time. This Sunday after Church Parade we will be laying it all out for you to take a look for any misplaced items you may have left at The Den; please take a look and reclaim it. Any items not collected by Sunday will be donated to a local charity shop.
Many years ago, 3rd Chalkwell Bay were proud to have our own Drum Core made up of Scouts, Sea Rangers and the old Ventures. The girls and boys of the Core attended weekly practice sessions at the Den and accompanied the Group at all Church Parades and major parades/events.
Unfortunately because of the experienced drummers leaving the group and no one new coming along to lead and teach the Core, it disbanded.
It has been a wish of the current Leaders to try and get the Core up and running again, however this would not be possible unless a new drumming instructor could be found who could teach military marching beats. Fortunately it appears that we may have found such a person. Continue reading 3rdCB Drum Core
