Celebrating our Young People at Presentation Evening

On Saturday 20 January 3rdCB held the Group’s annual Presentation Evening – our opportunity to tell friends, families and the rest of 3rdCB what we’ve been up to over the past year, and celebrate the achievements of all the Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers over the past year.

Each section took it in turns to talk about their activities, present awards for competitions across the year, and honour the young people who had really stood out. Awards were presented by The High Sheriff of Essex, who is the Queen’s representative for law and order in the county. A small team of actors – one person from each section – put on a short sketch showing how each age group looks up and down to each other, and how we’re ultimately just one big family.

Congratulations to everyone who received an award!

Our thanks go again to Leigh Road Baptist Church for letting us use their lovely church hall and facilities, and hosting us so well. Thanks also to Tim Browne for acting as Master of Ceremonies for the evening and putting together the “Six of a Kind” sketch, Matt Dean for putting together a delicious buffet at the end, and of course to Marcus Dean for organising the whole evening.

All the photos from the evening are available on the members Facebook Group, and the video & slideshow are on the YouTube channel if you want to watch them again.
