Leaders in HARP 24 Hour Race

HARP24 TeamA team of 7 leaders, parents & supporters from 3rdCB entered the HARP 24 Hour Race on 25-26 June, raising money for Our Big Project – the Group’s new boating centre.

The gruelling day and night running race was held at Westcliff Rugby Club and involved the team running as many laps as possible in a 24 hour period – in total they managed 153 miles!

Start of HARP 24The team consisted of: Tom Ager-Lowden (Scout Troop Assistant), Jamie Hockley (Cub Pack Assistant and Beaver & Cub Dad), Colin Lander (Long Standing Supporter of 3rdCB), Martin Palmer (Asst Cub Leader and Scout & Cub Dad), Louis Phillips (Asst Cub Leader), Rik Snarey (Scout Dad and husband of Asst Cub Leader Chantal) and Simon Whalley (Scout & Beaver Dad).

In total, the team raised over £1,100 towards the new boating centre. A huge thank you to all 7 of them, not to mention all the supporters who came to visit and cheer them on, and all the parents, relatives and friends who sponsored them and donated money to help us make Our Big Project a reality!
